Behind the Scenes Tours

Have you always wondered how cinemas work? Would you love a chance to see inside a projection room?  Are you intregued by the incredible history of the Phoenix? Then come along to the cinema on one of our quarterly tours suitable for all ages led by our wonderful Phoenix volunteers!

You’ll hear about the history of our beautiful auditorium and get to see behind the scenes. Tours will be listed below when they are confirmed, they last approx. 45 mins and there is space for 10 people per tour. Please note, access to the projection room at the end of the tour is via a long steep flight of stairs.

We also curate special screenings to complement the tours. Previous events have included Breaking the Peace: a Century of English Protest on Film, a selection of images from famous and less familiar campaigns presented by Film historian Professor Ian Christie of Birkbeck College.

The next tours will be on Sunday 11th December at 11am and 11.30am. To book please click here or call our box office on 020 8444 6789.
